I purchased this card due to my propensity to water cool my components. I was looking for a card with higher end cooling and a reference PCB. This card fit the bill, and so far I've been fairly impressed with it. The dual-slot cooler is more than competent enough to handle the heat the GPU puts out without excessively loud fan curves, and the GPU rarely goes over 70 celsius for me. The cooler is high quality, heavy and attractive and other than the typical custom cooler habit of outputting some heat into the case, is nearly perfect for this application. All the VRMs, RAM, chokes, and other warm components are well covered with massive thermal pads. The cooler itself has a quality feel and the two-piece backplate keeps the card rigid. I have been easily able to overclock the card to 2Ghz in regular use without seeing temperatures over 70 celsius. I am very happy with this card, regardless of the somewhat excessive price that nVidia spec'd out for it. Great buy. (Read More)

I notice that many 1080 Tis have zero reviews to this day, and this makes it harder to pick which model to buy.

I have had this one for just over a day, and I've been testing it out under a bunch of software, and am really getting the exact results I've expected. The card is certainly a beast, and if you like what you see from the advertisements of this card and the benchmarks etc, then you'll like what you see once it is in your PC. (Read More)

EVGA is the only manufacturer to offer non-FE dual-slot 1080 Tis besides the lone model from Gigabyte, so this is a good card to fit in smaller cases. Since all Tis are voltage-limited, there's little difference between maximum achievable overclocks on most models, +/- 100mhz. This fact makes the SC card particularly "value-oriented" for this class of card as the GamersNexus review found little difference between variants. EVGA actually over-compensated in the cooling department with the iCX cooler's abundance of thermal pads since the ACX fiasco. The card has no problem cooling itself and you may want to create a less aggressive fan curve.
